This again is a great reminder of how we as a society often redefine words and explain them away. There is a saying that goes," Excuses are monuments of nothingness.

Those who often use them, seldom amount to nothing." While that is great and true, sometimes people get into the habit of doing what they are doing (with support from their environment like Scott mentioned above) and don't recognize their words as excuses or the root of their problem.

I go through cycles where I am really on it and something shifts, I get comfortable and then I see where the mediocrity and excuses (I say good explanation) comes in.

I also now see how it hinders me and make the most effort to be different. Thanks for the reminder.

Excellent points indeed! People assume that their reality is the only reality. They assume that they know what is true, and that if it were true, they'd experience it.

What else is interesting, is that people assume they never need expert help. They assume they know all there is to know, and they assume they should be able to figure it all out on their own. This is the human default.

We also get lots of help from our "friends" who help provide excuses if we somehow run out of them. Beware friends who tell you all the "reasons" you can't be successful.

Take control, be purposeful, be passionate, be profitable. Create wealth in the world by giving value to others.

No excuses should be tattooed on the inside of our eyelids so we can see it every night :)

Great post.
