By the end of this series, I’d like to convince you that serendipity can be engineered, that lucky breaks can be manufactured, convention can be defied, and that the best path to success—no matter how you define it—are different today from what they were yesterday.
We’re all familiar with the law of diminishing returns where at some point, no matter how hard you are working that your results will be less and less and you wind up playing a game of subtraction of even worse…division.
But what about just the opposite…what about playing multiplication as in growth hacking your way to 10X, 100X, 1000X or even 10000X.
Google’s genius Futurist Ray Kurzweil has made headlines with his provocative yet often accurate predictions, like that a computer would beat a human in chess (already happened) or that self-driving cars would take us everywhere (starting to happen).
But, Kurzweil’s brilliance isn’t in the predictions themselves. It’s in what the predictions represent — Kurzweil’s core thesis, a little thing called “the Law of Accelerating Returns.”
It states that “fundamental measures of information technology follow predictable and exponential trajectories.”
“The reality of information technology is it progresses exponentially, 30 steps linearly gets you to 30. One, two, three, four, step 30 you’re at 30. With exponential growth, it’s one, two, four, eight. Step 30, you’re at a billion.”
A simple assessment of the history of technology and its impact on growth shows that change is exponential. What this means is that we won’t experience 100 years of progress in the 21st century—it will be more like 20,000 years of progress.
I’d suggest you grab your helmet and buckle up…as we’re all in for one heck of a ride.
THIS WILL LEAVE A MARK
Most people and organizations are preparing themselves for a future that does not exist.
While technology is on an unconventional rocket ride from one moonshot to the next, far too many of us remain stuck in the past. Most operate with slow and out-of-date thinking and behaviors which are only successful in creating little or even diminished returns.
A moments reflection will point out that we’re multiplying our capabilities as a civilization, and yet we still accept the highly-limiting beliefs that important societal change and progress, like re-engineering education, combating crime, innovating in government, medicine, law and even politics — must take generations.
Despite irrefutable proof of what we can accomplish in a short amount of time, most of us remain firmly fixed in the comfort zone and follow per-prescribed paths.
As someone who repeatedly, consistently, and quite routinely works with people and organizations who accelerate from standing starts to giant accomplishments, “exponential growth” is my reality.
I have come to the understanding that you cannot change your behavior nor experience exponential growth, until and unless you change your beliefs…and that the most important element in your strategy to win the battle for your mind and productivity is your own psychology.
That’s why I created the 100 Day Challenge…to show you how to achieve more in just 100 days than most people do over the course of ten years.
My aim here is to transfer the belief…that the fastest and easiest route to success in not the traditional, old-fashioned way, and that the conventional ways of thinking and behaving which you grew up with can be hacked and overruled.
The fact is…you have no legal, logical or moral obligation to settle for small, marginal or incremental growth…you are more than capable of experiencing rapid success and exponential growth in your own personal productivity…however it will require the rigorous deployment of superior execution strategies.
LEVERAGE
So how do you do it…how do you accelerate your rate of success?
How do you multiply your performance, dramatically exceed your best expectations, and achieve goals on a pace and scale that for many would seem impossible?
Providing you with answers to those questions is the purpose of this series.
Here’s the first of many…if you really want to achieve rapid success, and are willing to make some changes in your life to cause it to happen, you too can become one of the great ones.
The most urgent of things which you’ll need to give up are false assumptions, low expectations, self-limiting doubts and the comfort zone that holds you back from unleashing your greatness.
Stay tuned…in part 2, I’m going to give you a master class on leverage.
You’ll learn how you can leverage everything in your path to create a series of performance explosions that will change your life forever.
In the meantime, enjoy this webinar.
Everything Counts!
